Website Development : Our Approach

We’re friendly, easy to talk to, and won’t baffle you with jargon. Our aim is to help you to show what you have to show, tell what you have to tell or sell what you have to sell – on the world wide web.

We pride ourselves in delivering websites that are both visually stimulating

1

Let’s talk

In order to develop an effective website, one that will be successful in reaching your audience, it is important that we understand who your audience is, and how you envisage using your website to engage with them.

Beginning with an informal consultation – over a coffee, over the phone or over the internet (whichever suits you), we’ll discuss your ideas and develop a strategy for reaching your audience.

We can also discuss ways in which you can promote your website using more traditional methods, such as brochures and leaflets, to further enhance your online exposure.

2

Audit

If you already have a website, we can take a close look at its design and construction, make recommendations as to how it could be improved and how it could be made more effective in engaging your audience.

We’ll provide you with a report outlining each recommendation, and costs for implementing them.

3

Research

An informed and intelligent understanding of your audience is key to developing an effective website. It will influence both the way your website looks and how it functions, so it is critical that research is carried out to best understand your audience, their tastes, needs and expectations.

A great deal can also be learned from those already engaging with your audience online, and reviewing their websites is a valuable source of reference. It enables you to:

  • see what styles of text and images are currently deemed relevant to your audience.
  • identify what is currently being done well, what is being done not so well and what is not being done at all.
  • highlight opportunities for you to offer something unique to your audience.
4

Specification

After consulation and research, we prepare a specification for your website. The specification comprises of a comprehensive document, outlining the details of each page within your website, and is what you’ll receive from us once the consultation and research have been carried out. It takes the form of a diagram, not unlike a family tree, illustrating how each page links and relates to every other page on the website, what each of those pages contain, and how they will function.

5

Development

Once the specification has been agreed, the development process begins. Design, Construction, Testing, and finally – launch!
